This 20′ long x 5′ wide area map table was made for the Muddy Run Visitor Center located in Holtwood, Pennsylvania. The tabletop graphic is made up of two thermofused and printed phenolic exterior panels, similar to graphics one might see outdoors at a local park. This media was chosen for its durability and long life span.
〇 Space Shuttle Endeavor Exhibit
The interactive exhibit shown in the rendering above was created for presentation to an aerospace engineering university program. The interpretive content centered on three main themes: (1) milestones in the department’s development of lab equipment that eventually flew on the space shuttle Endeavor, (2) the academic and career achievements of one alumnus of the school who became a NASA astronaut and eventually flew in space, and (3) the contemporary and future technological advancements in teaching within the department. To help convey this information, the concept included several pushbutton-driven LED monitors, speakers, and a pushbutton-driven turntable that allowed a visitor to rotate the payload artifact for viewing purposes. The structure included laminated cabinetry, welded aluminum railings with tempered glass panels, UV-printed Sintra graphics, and a rear-lit frosted glass header sign.
